The Black LGBT Community Awards are back and this year will see the ceremony hosted on a luxury Thames cruiser. The night will be an opportunity to recognise those who have contributed to the lives of Black LGBT people in the past year. The awards are a stylish occasion for Black LGBT people and their friends to meet, mingle and be entertained as well as to show their appreciation for those that have offered support, broken down barriers or been an inspiration to their community. The categories are: Advocacy - Who has made the biggest impact on ensuring that Black LGBT communities are represented in society and that their rights are protected? Health promotion - Who has made the biggest impact in delivering support for members of Black LGBT communities' health and well-being? Communications - Who has helped Black LGBT communities communicate with each other and with wider communities? Community Development - Who has worked hardest to support Black LGBT people in building a community and playing their role as active citizens? Arts - Who has made a big impact in using the arts/media to share the stories of Black LGBT people? Club of the year - What club night has been the best for Black LGBT people in the UK over the past year? Man of the year and Woman of the year - Who has emerged as a Black LGBT role model over the past year?
